The intermittent musings of a right wing extremist

withhuckArt Lindsey III began radio “career” as a frequent caller to a local morning show in Peoria Illinois in 1993. His first appearance before an audience was as a participant in a boxing match in 1994, and after letting over 1,000 people witnessing him get a bloody nose, he was never the same. He decided radio was for him, and he completed his degree in broadcasting in 1997.

From there, he interned at an AM station and nearly lost his mind. While he enjoyed the production work, he frequently fantasized about driving his production director out to the desert and leaving her to the fire ants. Needless to say, that gig was short lived, and to this day, would be the only job in terrestrial radio he would ever have. Getting a job in radio isn’t as easy as one would believe.

After finally realizing he would probably never work in “real” radio again, Art joined Rantmedia.ca/Rantradio.com as Program Director in 2000. Art helped to transform Rantmedia from a small single channel operation into a network with three radio channels and an IPTV channel. Art oversaw am air staff of well over 50, which was roughly five times larger than a terrestrial outlet. Art worked closest with the networks “franchise” entertainer, Sean Kennedy. The co-wrote a treatment for MTV in 2001, and Art helped to create SKTFM.TV, a downloadable video “cyberculture” show, and ‘The Sean Kennedy TV Show’ in 2003, which was the first live Internet TV talk show. The show pushed the limits of the then-fledgling IPTV technologies by implementing a multiple-camera shoot. ‘The Sean Kennedy TV Show’ set viewership records, and was featured in the New York Times. Art also worked to successfully provide live, on-site coverage of E3 in Los Angeles in 2003 and the first Presidential debate of 2004 in Miami, Florida. Art once joked that he was “The Most Powerful Man in Internet Radio”, and much to his surprise, the moniker stuck. He has been lucky enough to work with and/or be interviewed/tolerated by the following people and publications:

Revision 3’s Kevin Rose
Frank Cotolo (Longtime friend and sidekick of the legendary Wolfman Jack)
Bill Lessard, Author of Netslaves
Free Talk Live
Wired Magazine
Spin Magazine
The Globe and Mail
The Vancouver Sun

Art was released from Rantmedia in 2009, and is looking for new challenges. He is a thoughtful, yet unapologetic conservative, and he has no problem calling someone a fraud to their face, no matter how revered among the beltway crowd they may be. He counts convincing his broadcast partner Mark Hopkins that Ron Paul is demented old coot among his proudest achievements as a conservative, he also maintains that Mark, who is now 30 and has two children, is too old to go by his nickname “Rizzn.” This is probably the only argument with Mark that Art will continually lose. Curses!

Since Mark and Art started working together at Rantmedia in 2004, they have forged an unbreakable partnership which has resulted in hundreds of broadcasts and hundreds of thousands of entertained listeners. They take particular pride in the fact that they have achieved this over the course of five years without ever meeting face to face even once. Mark and Art espouse genuine faith-based conservatism, and although they have been often maligned (and sometimes fired) for their beliefs, it hasn’t stopped them. It’s only made them stronger, and they keep fighting, because America needs conservatives.
